Obituary for Frances B Celona

BARRE- Frances B. Celona - passed away on March 12, 2017 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. She was born in South Barre, MA, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Dominica (Tomasello) Celona.

Frances was a graduate of Barre High School and Ward Business School in Worcester, MA. She also studied at Bentley College in Boston. She was a retired bookkeeper having worked for several companies in Worcester, Cambridge, and Boston. She lived for several years in Brighton, MA where she was a member of St. Columbkille's parish. In December 2015, she moved to Brookdale Senior Living in Auburn, MA where she lived until her death.

Frances spent many years as a treasurer for Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed traveling, attending the opera, and showing her friends and family around Boston. She liked making people laugh, and often said she wanted people to leave smiling after visiting her. Above all, she cherished her faith and her family.

Frances leaves her sister Jennie M. Celona of Daytona Beach Shores, FL; her niece Mary B. Daigle of Auburn; her nephew Richard C. Pincince of Worcester; her great-nieces Kimberly M. Daigle of Auburn and Racheal E. Pincince of Leicester; her great-nephew Jeremy R. Daigle of Worcester; and her great grandnephew John P. Daigle of Worcester. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Sara A. Pincince of Auburn and her brother Louis J. Celona of Boston.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday March 18,2017 from 9:30-10:30am in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 S. Barre Rd., Barre. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am in St. Thomas-a-Becket Church 398 Vernon Ave. S. Barre. Burial will be private in the parish cemetery.
