GILBERTVILLE- Jason K. "Cucch" Cucchiara - formerly of Leominster, Farmer, Irrigation Manager, Beekeeper at Many Hands Organic Farm in Gilbertville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 30,2016.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Debra (Snow) Cucchiara of Leominster and his aunt Brenda Cucchiara. Jay is survived by his 4 sisters: Stephanie Azar & her husband Jack Azar of Upton, Angela Quinty of Westminster, Francine and Jenny Kirouac of Leominster; his nephew and neices Brenden and Amanda Quinty of Westminster and Alianna Azar of Upton; his uncle Paul and aunt Billie Cucchiara of FL.; cousin Andy Cucchiara & his wife Angela of MD., Melissa Lizotte & her husband Brian of Westminster and Kris Cucchiara of SC. and many other familly and lots of dear friends that will miss him deeply.

He was born on September 18, 1982. He attended Leominster Trade school and worked at Many Hands Organic farm in Barre, where he grew close to owners Julie and Jack Rawson. Julie said “Jason never flagged in his work ethic, his attention to detail, his innovative thinking and working he was the master behind the mushrooms, and our new bee hive.” Jay loved the great outdoors, camping, fishing, farming, beekeeping, mushrooming, irrigation, he enjoyed raising chickens and pigs at the farm. He loved to learn about all aspects of farming. He taught workshops at NOFA conferences.

He was very close to his Dad, and they used to vacation at Salisbury beach, play cards, and go to the movies. He enjoyed camping and playing cribbage with his sister Angela, going on day trips with his sister Stephanie, and going to church and visiting with his sisters Francine and Jenny. He enjoyed his coffee, chaga tea and spending time with family & friends. Jay was larger than life, had a heart of gold, was a kind soul and always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed cooking his first turkey and celebrating Thanksgiving with his family.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Jay on Sunday, December 11,2016 at 3PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert St. North Brookfield. A calling hour will be held from 2-3PM prior to the service.
