Obituary for Dorothy Wisnewski (Uhlik)

NEW BRAINTREE- Dorothy (Uhlik) Wisnewski- passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Stanley J. Wisnewski, in 2001.

Dorothy was born in Kearny, New Jersey on August 31, 1931 to Felix and Stella (Maliszewski) Uhlik, the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Kearny High School and soon after married the love of her life and moved to New Braintree in 1951 where she resided on the family farm for 65 years.

She leaves behind a daughter, Victoria & husband William Blake from Stow, MA; two sons, Martin Wisnewski & companion Elizabeth Trask, and John & Brenda Wisnewski of New Braintree; a former daughter-in-law Teresa Wisnewski of North Brookfield; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Woodmaska of Kearny, N.J.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Victoria, Walter, Felix, Wanda and Chester all from New Jersey.

Dorothy retired from Flexcon as a lab technician in 1995 and also worked at the former Kleven Shoe Co. and Barre Wool Combing Co.. She loved spending time with her family, especially Saturday lunch at the farm. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the medical staff of 33South at St. Vincent’s for their remarkable care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, June 5,2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert Street, North Brookfield. The funeral Mass for Dorothy will be held on Monday at 11a.m. in St. Joseph Church 296 N.Main St.North Brookfield. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
